imponderablien
location-independent audio walk, with Luka Lenzin and Manuel Gies, 2020
In this 70-minute audio walk, various guides invite listeners to actively perceive and connect what at first seems unrelated. Philosophical reflections and perceptual exercises on memory interact in playful, poetic ways, opening space for individual experience.
Everything is already present. I meet with everything I always carry with me — my ears, my feelings, my memory, my ideas, my energy, my time — at a single point. If a memory resides in a place, do I always participate in it when I return? And if my memory is tied to a moment in time, do I carry that time with me?
The work welcomes contrasts between the listener’s personal, sensory experience and the audio track. Each experience is unique, unrepeatable, and cannot be argued over — only shared and explored, again and again.
