volumenXvolume
a series of experimental walks, with Luka Lenzin and Manuel Gies, since 2019
The walks are performative, there is no planned choreography, but chance determines the course. Only a few predetermined rules trigger the chain of events. These can be small tasks and the request for documentation (e.g. by means of photos, sound, mapping, material collection).
The participants become a collective of producers. The result is an association that produces unpredictable, uncontrollable effects that challenge the order of the space. It is an unplanned journey through a - mostly urban - landscape, in which the participants let go of their everyday relationships and "allow themselves to be drawn in by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there".
Everything is already there. I am here, on the spot. I meet the place with everything I always have with me. It trusts me, I trust myself. Mimesis originally refers to the ability to achieve an effect through a gesture. I and the place enter into a creative synthesis, we show reality.
Perception is sharpened on this walk. We stroll in an absurd way, and yet we open up the seemingly unconnected and recognize the seemingly closed as a public sphere worthy of protection.
