Take me to the river
experimental walk, Symposium Alles ist schon da, HFBK Hamburg / PARKS, Hamburg, 2023
In Take Me to the River, participants follow the Bille River along its final stretch before it flows into the Elbe. The experimental walk explores relationships between humans and non-humans in a contaminated urban ecosystem.
Participants observe, listen, and experience the river with all their senses, sensing its vapors and letting them move through the body. The walk invites reflections on old and new riverbanks, liquid landscapes, islands, and shifting temporalities.
The project questions fixed geographic, temporal, and narrative structures, encouraging participants to perceive the Bille as a living, changing organism.
